In this class the students will be using place value to round decimal numbers to any place. This lesson will begin with a review of whole number place using a place value chart. Next, using Google slides I will demonstrate and teach the decimal place value chart. We will discuss and identify the terms tenths, hundredths, and thousandths. I will then use the I do, we do, you do strategy to demonstrate to the students how to round decimals to the tenths, hundredths, and thousandths place....
The goal of this lesson is for students to be able to identify decimal place value and to be able to round decimal numbers to any place.
I have my Master's Degree in Elementary Education. I have been teaching 5th grade Math for 10 years. Prior to that I was a 6th grade Math teacher.
