Now enrolling for Summer 2024 Welcome to the 2nd to 3rd Grade Math Summer Bridge Program! In this 10-week course, our goal is to ensure a seamless transition between 2nd and 3rd-grade math, making learning engaging and fun. What will be taught? 🧠 Get ready for an exciting exploration of math concepts! We'll cover fundamental arithmetic with a focus on addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Dive into problem-solving strategies, basic geometry, an introduction to fractions, and explore concepts of time and money – building a strong foundation for success in 3rd grade and beyond. What topics will you cover? 📚 Explore key topics, with one week dedicated to each: - Week 1-2: Mastering addition and subtraction with regrouping - Week 3-4: Understanding multiplication and division basics - Week 5-6: Exploring geometric shapes and their properties - Week 7-8: Introducing the concept of fractions through interactive activities - Week 9: Concepts of time and practical applications - Week 10: Understanding the basics of money How is your class structured? 🏫 Our class meets twice a week for 10 weeks, offering a consistent and engaging learning experience. Hello! My name is Mrs. JaLes and I am dedicated to proving that learning is effective when kids have the freedom to explore. What do I mean by this? From a early age our kids are learning everything from exploring (touching, engaging, inquiring, investigating, practicing, reassessing, and finally conquering). Then they start school and we add structure and try to make them fit in a box. As a homeschool educator, I challenge my students to live out of the box and achieve greatness by mastering skills based on their learning style and interests. It's truly amazing the facts my kids recall without ever working on memorization and how much improvement in their critical thinking skills I've seen in such a short time.
