Welcome to 1st Grade Math where students will learn and review their objectives in a fun and engaging way by using Nearpod! This class is perfect for students who are entering 1st grade or want a review on the 1st grade math objectives Every lesson will be taught as if it was new to the student to ensure that they understand the material. The lesson will be fun and engaging as they will get to play fun games to reinforce the lesson, do activities like drag and drop activities and many more activities that can be found within Nearpod Students will be able to participate in the class by various formats. They can come off mute and ask questions, they can show their work on the Nearpod, or they can ask questions on the chatbox. Learners will receive an OPTIONAL Kahoot game to reinforce what was learned in the classroom as well as a copy of the Nearpod lesson for reinforcement. I love to ensure students are understanding the material, therefore students will be asked questions throughout the lesson. They can either answer verbally or in the chat box. If after the summer you would like to continue your child’s learning with us please look at the other Fall classes to reserve your spot **Nearpod is a fun and interactive platform that students love because it is extremely hands on. Students will NOT need a paid account to access it. They will receive a link prior to class and at the beginning of the class to simply click on it and login** WEEK OF: May 30: Addition to 10/Skip Counting by 2s June 6: Addition to 20/Skip Counting by 5s June 13: Subtracting to 10/ Skip Counting by 10s June 22: Subtracting to 20/Subtracting to 20 with Model matches June 27: Comparing Up To 10 with Greater than, less than, or equal to sign/Comparing to 100 July 4: Place Value Models up to 20/Even or Odd July 11: Place Value: Tens & Ones/ Ordering Numbers July 18: Place value models up to 100/One-Digit Addition July 25: Left, Middle, and Right/Top, Middle, Bottom August 1: Coin Values/Dollar Values August 8: Pictographs/symmetry August 15: Patterns/Equal parts August 22: Analog clocks and times/digital clocks and times

Please note that students do not need to create an account to access Nearpod. A link will be given to access the lesson prior to class and at the beginning of the class.
For Kahoot students do not need an account. A link will be provided to them so they can access the game after class

STUDENTS WILL BE ACCESSING NEARPOD THROUGH THEIR COMUPUTER OR SEPERATE DEVICE IF POSSIBLE IF STUDENTS USE THE LINK THROUGH THEIR COMPUTER THEY WILL BE ABLE TO HEAR ME, BUT NOT SEE ME SO A SEPARATE DEVICE SUCH AS A TABLET IS RECOMMENDED BUT NOT REQUIRED
