No live meetings will take place but lots of fun, hands-on videos will be posted to complete at your leisure. Week 1Lesson 1Spelling 1 and EconomicsWe will go over the weekly spelling words and then learn about the difference between needs and wants in economics.Lesson 2Reading 1 and Math 1In reading we will practice reading sight words. Then we will learn about shapes and their attributes in math.Lesson 3Reading 1 and Math 2We will continue our work with sight words by practicing to read and write them. Then we will learn about composite shapes in math.Lesson 4Science, Grammar, and Spelling 2In science we will be discussing the difference between living and nonliving things. Then we will learn about nouns in grammar. We will end the lesson by reviewing the weekly spelling words.Week 2Lesson 5Spelling 1 and Geography 1We will go over the weekly spelling words and then explore maps and globes in geography.Lesson 6Reading, Writing, and Math 1In reading we will practice reading sight words. Then we will work on our handwriting and practice writing the letters A-D. After that we will order and compare lengths in math.Lesson 7Math 2 and Geography 2We will continue ordering and comparing lengths in math. Then we will work with maps and globes again in geography.Lesson 8Science and Spelling 2In science we will be learning how scientists classify animals and we will complete a sorting activity. We will end the lesson by reviewing the weekly spelling words.Week 3Lesson 9Spelling 1, Reading, and Civics 1First, we will go over the weekly spelling words. Then we will read and discuss a poem. We will finish the lesson with civics and learn about responsibilities.Lesson 10Math 1In math we will be decomposing shapes.Lesson 11Math 2 and ScienceWe will continue our work in math on decomposing shapes. Then we will learn about our solar system in science.Lesson 12Civics 2In civics we will continue our learning about responsibilities. We will discuss the responsibilities a person has in their home as well as in their community.Week 4Lesson 13Spelling 1, Math 1, and Science 1First, we will go over the weekly spelling words. Then we will will practice adding numbers together in math. In science we will explore forces and gravity.Lesson 14Math 2 and Science 2Our second math lesson this week is all about subtraction. Then we will continue our learning on forces and gravity by performing an experiment.Lesson 15Grammar and WritingIn grammar we will be learning about the short sounds of the vowels. Then we will practice writing the letters E through H.Lesson 16Economics and Spelling 2We will learn about money and why we need it in economics. We will end the lesson by reviewing the weekly spelling words.Week 5Lesson 17Science 1, Math 1, and Spelling 1In science we will learn about animal migration. Then we will solve addition and subtraction word problems. We will end the lesson by going over the weekly spelling words.Lesson 18Science 2 and Math 2We will be learning about hibernation and completing a fun project in science. Then we will continue solving addition and subtraction word problems.Lesson 19Grammar and ReadingIn grammar we will be discussing verbs and adjectives. Then we will read and discuss a story together.Lesson 20Civics and Spelling 2We will be learning about the different levels of the United States government. Then we will end the lesson by reviewing the weekly spelling words.Week 6Lesson 21Math 1 and Science 1We will be learning how to read and interpret graphs in math. Then we will discuss and explore the four outer planets of our solar system.Lesson 22Math 2 and Science 2In math we will learn about different types of graphs and how to read and interpret them. Then we will continue our learning on the outer planets.Lesson 23Spelling 1, Writing, and ReadingFirst, we will go over the weekly spelling words. Then we will practice writing the letters I through L. We will end the lesson with reading and discussing a story.Lesson 24Economics and Spelling 2In economics we will be learnings about goods and services. Then we will end the lesson by reviewing the weekly spelling words.Week 7Lesson 25Math 1 and WritingIn math we will learn how to find missing numbers in addition and subtraction equations. Then we will practice writing the letters M through P.Lesson 26Math 2 and Spelling 1We will continue our work in math on finding the missing numbers in addition and subtraction equations.Lesson 27Science and Geography 1We will be learning about the laws of motion in science and then we will discuss the seven continents on Earth.Lesson 28Geography 2, Reading, and Spelling 2In geography we will be learning about the five oceans on Earth. Then we will practice reading sight words. Then we will end the lesson by reviewing the weekly spelling words.Week 8Lesson 29Math 1 and Spelling 1In math we will be learning how to compare numbers using <, >, and =. Then we will go over the weekly spelling words.Lesson 30Math 2 and Science 1We will continue our math work with comparing numbers. Then in science we will learn about physical changes in matter.Lesson 31Science 2 and WritingIn science we will continue learning about physical changes to matter. Then we will practice writing the letters Q through T.Lesson 32Geography and Spelling 2We will be learn about Pangea and what the Earth looked like a long, long time ago. Then we will end the lesson by reviewing the weekly spelling words.
- Children will learn the foundations they need within the 1st grade curriculum using hands-on and child-led learning styles on a flexible schedule watching pre-recorded lessons.
