💫This is a one-time class that can be taken multiple times. Come once, or come often! Welcome to the Yoga Phonics Adventure Club, where learning meets movement in an exciting and interactive class designed specifically for young learners! In this dynamic class, children will embark on a journey through the world of phonics while engaging in playful yoga poses and games. Each session is carefully crafted to combine the benefits of yoga with the fundamentals of phonics, creating a holistic approach to early literacy development. Through a series of fun activities, children will explore letter sounds and basic spelling patterns, all while improving their flexibility, coordination, and focus. Learning Goals: ✔️ Recognize that spoken words are represented in written language by specific sequences of letters. ✔️ Recognize and name all upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet. ✔️ Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words. ✔️ Demonstrate basic knowledge of one-to-one letter-sound correspondences by producing the primary sound or many of the most frequent sounds for each consonant. ✔️ Recognize and produce rhyming words. Learners need… 👉 An open space to participate safely in the class 👉Comfortable clothing (no socks or grip socks to prevent slipping) 👉Water 🤩This class is perfect for children who are eager to learn and love to move! No prior yoga experience is necessary—all levels are welcome.
受講に必要なもの
Comfortable clothes and space to safely move around. Socks are not recommended, unless they are "grippy" socks (the kind with sticky plastic or rubber on the soles). A Yoga mat is great, but not required. Using a towel or blanket in place of a Yoga mat is not recommended, as those can cause the student to slip or trip.

Hello, I'm Catherine De'Ath, your Outschool guide to exciting learning adventures! I have been teaching for more than 25 years with the Toronto District School Board (🍁Canada). My Ontario College of Teachers Certificate number is #286618. I attended Dalhousie University for my Bachelor of Music in Performance, and then Brock University for my Bachelor of Education. I studied classical piano from the age of 5 with the Royal Conservatory of Music. While in University, I performed as a Mezzo-Soprano in the Dalhousie Chorale.
Throughout my teaching career, I have taught K-12 Music, Kindergarten, Grade 1 and 2, Health and Physical Education. I have conducted choirs and musical ensembles for seasonal public performances throughout all of these years of teaching. I have always continued to advance my skills by taking additional qualifications courses and am very proud to be a Reading Specialist.
In 2020, I created K5 Hidden Peak Education. K5HPE proudly creates virtual resources to support the development of literacy, math, arts, health and physical education.
