Did you know that there are about 36 species of wild cats in the world? Learners will become familiar with the classification of different groups of wildcats, their habitats, and food webs. The differences between domestic and wild animals will be discussed while meeting a live pet cat. Ms. Amalia will facilitate crafts, games, and discussions while looking at photo slideshows, listening to the sounds wild cats make, and sharing her adventures of traveling and searching for wild cats around the world. This class will journey to the different continents of the world together to find out which wild cats live where and how to tell them apart! What is your favorite wild cat? The beginning of each class will be an opportunity for introductions, sharing, and guided discussion. Students may bring items to class to share related to wild cats such as toys or stuffed animals, pet cats, books, pictures, or artwork, etc. Day 1: Wild Cats of the Americas Day 2: African Wild Cats Day 3: Eurasian Wild Cats Students may also have the opportunity to interact with the Nature Explorers International classroom program animals, including: Scaly: the Corn Snake Slimy: the Tiger Salamander Lizzie: The Leopard Gecko PLEASE NOTE: Classes may run up to five minutes over the scheduled time depending on learner discussion and questions
