This Debate Club meets weekly for group debates on topics chosen by the students. We vote on topics during class, so there's nothing to prepare ahead of time. Students will practice debate individually, in pairs, and on teams. We'll use "breakout rooms" in our live Zoom meetings so teams can research and prepare their arguments. It's crucial in today's world, filled with misinformation and arguments on social media, that young people know how to logically express themselves and engage with others.
