If students participate in class discussions and/or projects (accommodating for those who are not public speakers) in addition to completing homework in at least five out of eight classes, I will provide them with a certificate of completion for this class. Additionally, all students will be provided with feedback on their projects alongside ideas and recommendations to pursue based on their individual interests.この文章は自動翻訳されています

Welcome to the exciting world of tabletop roleplaying game design! Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or new to the realm of RPGs, this is your gateway to crafting your very own tabletop gaming universe. Join us as we delve into the art of game system creation, exploring diverse mechanics ranging from traditional dice and cards to unconventional elements like Jenga towers. From discussing renowned systems like dungeons and dragons (both it's great ideas and flaws!) to brainstorming unique worlds and mechanics, we'll journey together through the realms of player agency, risk, and boundless creativity. Step into the realm of imagination and design your own adventure! By the end of the eight sessions every student will ideally have a complete prototype for their game, fit with mechanics, safety tools, player responsibilities, and considerations towards design (color theory, spacing, accessibility, etc...) Below is a detailed syllabus outlining each session. Students may register for the full course or select individual classes. While each class builds on the previous ones, necessary context will almost always be provided. The only exception is for the final two classes, where previous classes are required to aptly participate and grow. ------ This is an autism, ADHD, and other neurodivergences-friendly classroom. I myself am neurodivergent and this an open space where a student does not need to mask. Miscommunication will not be assumed to be rudeness, and I want curiosity to thrive. I will additionally, joyfully always accommodate best I can if any needs or learning strategies are provided ahead of time.
