By popular demand! Introducing the stand-up comedy version of comedy club! In this ongoing course, we will practice writing and performing comedy. Each week will focus on a specific topic and workshop our jokes for performance. The class will be structured as follows: Introduction and Short Warm-up (5 Minutes) Instruction Time: Short Instruction about the focus for today (5 Minutes) Writing Time: We will write together for 10 minutes on the focus topic (10 minutes) Partner Stand-up Routine Share: We will work as partners in breakout rooms and rehearse/fine-tune our jokes/material. I will rotate to each of the rooms to provide support/help (10-15 Minutes) Stand-up Comedy Performance for the Whole Group: Everyone will get two minutes to perform part of their material. (15-20 Min) Wrap-up/Notes (2-5 Minutes) Occasionally we will have longer performance sessions to practice longer material, and those will be announced in advance. I am a positive, caring, and enthusiastic teacher. I provide positive feedback and notes for improvement throughout the course. Students do not need any prior knowledge but should have a desire to perform stand-up comedy.
