リアルな動物アート: 渦巻きうさぎのスケッチ

In this one-time drawing course, students will learn to sketch a realistic portrait of a bunny (full body) with abstract swirls, using pencil.  

What will students learn?

1. Students will learn techniques to sketch a proportionate contour drawing (outline) of a bunny (full body), using pencil. 
2. Students will learn techniques to draw realistic shadows, using pencils and blending tools.
3. Students will learn techniques to draw realistic highlights, using pencils, erasers, and blending tools.
4. Students will learn techniques to draw realistic fur, using pencils, erasers, and blending tools.
5. Students will learn techniques to draw from a real photo, using a provided reference photo.
6. Students will learn what abstract art is through conversation and class discussion.
7. Students will learn techniques to draw abstract swirls and create "mood" in their art, using pencils and an eraser.

I will demonstrate each step for students and have students complete that step along with me.  My classroom is a calm, fun, and creative space where discussion between teacher and students is encouraged.  I strive for my classroom to be a positive environment for students to learn from each other, ask questions, and make lasting friendships. I ask students questions throughout the lesson to check for student understanding.

Students who enroll in this class should have basic drawing skills, like drawing and manipulating shapes with a pencil.  Students do not need a lot of prior realistic drawing experience to be successful in this class.
