レベルアップ: グラフと数学

I am so excited to begin our Graph Journals. We will collect data together each week, complete the graph, and add it to our journal. As we work together to complete the graph, students will discover how to use a graph to easily read information. We can compare and contrast the results, and discuss numbers easily in a super fun way! Using and completing graphs is an excellent skill to have, and while we do this together weekly... students will use listening and speaking skills to learn about their classmates. 

The following are a few of the topics your student might complete in class: 
Week 1: My Favorite Ice Cream
Week 2: My Favorite Color
Week 3: Today my shirt is _____. 
Week 4: My Favorite Outdoor Activity

This is an on-going class, but its design is such that your young learner can come in and out at any time. My hope is that we'll have so much you'll want to return week after week. Also, by returning weekly, your young learner will obtain a large collection of graphs in their journal. Journaling is another amazing skill offered in this class. We will date our entries and give each graph a title. I love how this class is designed. You will be amazing at your child's speaking and listening, ability to read information from a graph, and newfound love of creating a journal. 
My approach to this class is Guided Learning, meaning I will lead each young learner through the process step by step. They will receive simple instructions to complete the work and understand the material.
This class will work best with multiple students. So, if the enrollment in your section is low, we can definitely negotiate a transfer or a refund if the class does not meet its minimum. 
In other on-going classes, cousins or best friends sign up together. That is always super fun for the students. Consider inviting someone to join you as we "Raise the Bar".

Week of April 17:  Topic: What is your favorite ice cream flavor? The students will be a sent a file for parents to print. We will color and complete the graph together in class. 
Week of April 24: Topic: What is your favorite color? The students will be a sent a file for parents to print. We will cut, glue, and complete the graph together in class. 
Week of May 1: Topic: What color is your shirt today? The students will be sent a message to wear shirt: either blue, red, white, or green. We will graph the results together in class.
Week of May 8: Topic: What is your favorite outdoor activity? The students will be sent a file with activity options. We will cut, glue, and complete the graph together in class.
