このクラスで学べること

In this class, up to 4 learners will get focused support and individual feedback to try out a presenting style they've perhaps always wanted to have a go at/learn more about/dreamt about succeeding in, or just choose something fun to build their Public Speaking skills/speaking confidence or presenting.

You can do this class with a sibling, friend, in a pod, or just sign up and look forward to meeting up to 3 new learners.

Each class will start with some useful voice warm-ups for everyone, including some fun tongue twisters. Then we'll explore the skills and techniques to present different presenting styles chosen by the learners in class that day.

Each learner will get to choose exactly which presenting style they want to focus on (and if we have more than one wannabe Baking Presenter or Gaming Podcaster in one class don't worry there are multiple scripts for you all to try out). Each learner will get to immerse themselves in their chosen style with some top tips on how to use their voice and non-verbal skills to present themselves better, with some fun green screen backgrounds to fit the theme so learners will get to feel like they are creating a real TV show or YouTube channel video.

We will focus on specific voice and non-verbal techniques for each presenting style, and try them out with a simple pretend TV/YouTube script presented in the chatbox (with a few blanks for learners to add in their own creative ideas).

Even when learners are not focusing on their chosen style they can still learn lots, and be able to develop their presenting skills further by learning from the other styles chosen. These developing skills are great for presenting things like YouTube channels, school presentations, for competitions/festivals, future real TV shows etc, improving their Public Speaking, or even how they present themselves for future interviews.

At the end of each session, learners will often be able to create their own fun creative version of the presenting script of their choice, in the same presenting style but with an injection of imagination (for example reporting on raining food weather, baking with non-food ingredients, their own top gaming tips or a nature script for finding a fantasy creature, etc). They can let their imaginations go wild but just need to remember to use the tips given to them for how present it at the end of the class. All learners will receive on-the-spot feedback in class on what they are doing well and tips on how to improve.

Learners can choose from:
1- Being pretend Weather Presenters (we'll explore our use of vocal colour, and gestures),
2- Being pretend Scientific/Astronomy Presenters (we'll explore our use of clarity, stillness, and having a formal style),
3- Being pretend Baking/Cookery Presenters (we'll explore our use of pauses, good eye contact, and having an informal style),
4- Being pretend Children's Presenters (we'll explore our energy, word choices, and the use of hand movements to explain things),
5- Being pretend Radio Presenters (we'll explore avoiding filler words like um, like, er and look at how our posture affects our voice),
6- Being pretend Art or Craft Presenters (we'll explore giving instructions carefully, demonstrating things clearly, and having a friendly, calm style),
7- Being pretend Quiz Show Presenters (we'll explore lengthening words, adding excitement, and having engaging facial expressions),
8- Being pretend Gaming Presenters (we'll explore the use of proper speech, catchy slogans, and pace),
9- Being pretend Maths Presenters (we'll explore our use of pace, body language, and clarity).
10- Being pretend Movie Presenters (we'll explore using intonation and creating drama in our voice).
11- Being pretend Shopping Show/Shark Tank Presenters (we'll explore our use of projection, belief, and gestures).
12- Being pretend National Geographic/Nature Presenters (we'll explore our use of passion in our speaking, pauses, and looking at the camera no matter what).
13- Being pretend Comedy/Riddles Presenters (we'll explore changes in pace, ideas on style, and the importance of timing).
14- Being pretend Story Presenters (we'll explore creating an atmosphere with our voice and adding in interesting gestures).
15- Being pretend Sports Presenters (we'll explore the use of increasing pace to match the action and injecting enthusiasm in our speaking) plus many more,

I am an experienced Radio/Live/TV/Online/Video Presenter, Teacher, Storyteller, and Podcaster who has picked up lots of ideas, tips, and techniques about how to present herself. The fact that I started life as a very quiet child, is living proof that they really work too.

This class is also available in a 1:1 format should your learner want a more personalized coaching experience. Please message me to book your 1:1 session.

I have worked as a live presenter (events, theme parks, holiday camps, and hotels), TV (an interactive channel), and a radio presenter (a classics show slot and breakfast show holiday presenter). I have also recently branched into creating and presenting drama teaching videos, presenting live in-person music and movement classes for under 5s, and podcasting.
I am a fully qualified teacher (BAPA, PGCE) with 16+ years of experience teaching Drama (and some Music, PSHCE, and English) to 11 to 15 years olds and Performing Arts to 16 to 18 year olds in bricks and mortar schools, where I currently still teach part-time, including running small group and 1:1 confidence-building workshops. I also have many years of experience leading community workshop schemes (like create a play in a week) and local drama groups for ages 4 to 16.

As a professional actress, I've performed to children from ages 2-14 in theatres, arts centres, social clubs, historical properties,  nurseries, and schools. Playing roles such as the Gingerbread man and a tortoise, to a wartime headmistress and Queen Elizabeth the first! With lots of Q & A and interactive workshops along the way.

I have produced and directed many productions (musicals and plays) as well, including some I have written myself.
