In the course of serving as the caretaker for our family farm over the last 20 years, I have gotten hands-on experience in extensive gardening, orchard tending, timber forest management, and animal husbandry - including dairy goats, poultry, waterfowl, rabbits, cats, dogs, and now even hermit crabs! We also hike, forage, and use wild ingredients in season, when possible. (With spring comes nettles and violets, and fall brings elderberries and wild mushroom season, and winter means gathering holly and mistletoe!) In addition, I worked at a small animal veterinary clinic as an assistant for seven years, providing me with extensive knowledge and experience in animal care.
