詩の基本（冬のテーマ）セッション 1

In this course students will learn about the definition of poetry, parts of a poem, imagery, synonyms, connotations, and types of rhyme. Additionally students will be guided in note taking best practices for the class. I will present a series of slides which students will be invited to read aloud, provide examples, and discuss in further depth the topics addressed in the slides. I have a highly interactive teaching style and encourage participation from all students. 

Class begins with a check-in introduction from each student with their preferred name, their pronouns, and a fun fact which is followed by an overview of class agreements. Next we will cover the note taking guide and how to use it for this course. Finally we will proceed through the content described above, and close with a review of main ideas covered in session and a period for questions.
