このクラスで学べること
Students will start class by reviewing what a percent is. Once this is established we will go into finding the percent of a whole amount. Students will be given a strategy that can be applied to any type of problems involving percents. With this strategy students will be able to find the part, percent or whole amount. Students will apply the strategy to skill based problems and a couple of word problems. Students will leave the lesson with detailed notes that will useful for future lessons.
Students will lean a strategy to solve problems when asked to find the percent of a whole number or a part when given a whole.
This is a lesson that I have taught both in a public school with a class of 30 students and in private tutoring setting, and I have always been able to identify the misconceptions regarding this lesson. This helps me adjust the lesson to individual needs.
