I hold an M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language and an Independent Education Consultant Certificate. I have taught three different levels of general education ESL English courses with a focus on Academic Writing, Reading, and Grammar at a university. I also obtained an English minor and Spanish minor during college. I understand the reasons behind many of the mistakes Spanish speakers may make when they write in English, and my ESL background gives me great insight into how language is broken down, allowing me to provide specific reasons why writing something one way may be better than saying it another way.

I have been mentoring and guiding high school students as they apply to college and transition to college for eight years, and I currently help students with their essays as part of my One-on-One College Application & Preparation Mentoring classes on Outschool, which have five star reviews. 

In addition, I have more than five years experience assisting college students in writing their essays for a competitive Department of State Study Abroad scholarship, and I also served as a reviewer of that scholarship and another Department of State competitive scholarship where I read through many essays. 

Throughout my career, I've been asked to write blog posts, content for websites, policies, and rewrite manuals. With experience in various types of writing, I am able to quickly discern if a student's essay style is appropriate for the college essay.
