Let's play some math games involving monsters! This class will inspire your learner to continue to play with numbers and math skills even after class is over because...who doesn't love feeding monsters? This class combines math practice with a little bit of art and creativity. We will: 1. Introduce ourselves with a silly ice breaker question. 2. Spend the first 20 minutes of class decorating 2 boxes to look like monsters. 3. Spend the remainder of class playing math games - skip counting...
2 cardboard boxes of different sizes (examples: tissue boxes, pasta boxes, cracker boxes), construction paper, glue, scissors, markers Number cards will be provided by the teacher to print and cut out prior to class.
Learners might want to cut fun shapes for their monsters out of construction paper. They are welcome to do this before the start of class, but if they want to do it during class, adult supervision is suggested for the learner's safety. Please remember to remain off screen per Outschool's policy!
