このクラスで学べること
Each class will start with a face-to-face introduction and then I will use a second camera so you can see my hands. I will lead you through the project through demonstration, a slideshow and verbal instructions. Students will be encouraged to hold their piece up to the camera, so I can give feedback. This is an intermediate clay class. Learners should have some experience hand building with clay. First week Sculpt a little green alien onto a slab of clay creating a relief. I will show you step-by-step how to hand build your alien, using balls of clay and slabs. You'll also learn how to create volume, and score & slip to attach pieces. Instructions will be given at the end of the class on how to properly dry your clay sculpture to prepare it for the second week. Second week The sculpture will be dry and ready to paint. Using the acrylic paint colors listed I'll show you how to mix colors for the skin and cloak. Next, you'll learn how to make tints and shades (light and dark colors) to make your Yoda look realistic. I never cancel classes due to low enrollment. However, I will email you to let you know if your learner is the only one, in case they are uncomfortable with a one-on-one class.

受講に必要なもの
First class: >Clay First choice – I highly recommend Creative Paperclay which can be purchased from art supply stores and Amazon. Prices range from $9 to $16 for a 16 ounce package. You'll need about 8 ounces of Creative Paperclay. Creative Paperclay is lightweight and strong when it dries. Second choice – Another good choice is Amaco (white or grey) air dry clay. It's not as strong as Creative Paperclay when it's dry. Third choice –Polymer clay. Even if you don't have the colors needed, it can be painted with acrylic paint. The polymer clay will need to baked between classes. You can use other kinds of air dry clay, but I can't vouch for the end result because the consistency of air dry clays vary. *****Upon enrollment, you will receive a PDF which has links to where the supplies can be bought online. *****If you have any questions about the materials, please message me. I'll be happy to help! Tools >If you don't have clay tools you can use a toothpick, butter knife, a dull pencil and a popsicle stick. >If you have clay tools, you'll need a modeling stick, a butter knife, dull pencil and a pin tool. >Small container of water and brush. >Plastic wrap to loosely wrap the sculpture as it dries. >One piece of white paper. >Piece of cardboard approximately 5 x 6". The cardboard will be used with the piece of white paper on top to act as a stiff backing for the sculpture so the learner can pick up the sculpture easily to show it to me. Second class: >Acrylic paints in brown, white, black, green, red and yellow. >Two small paintbrushes. One with a fine tip for details. > A pallette to mix the paint. You can use a clean Styrofoam tray or paper plate. >Container to rinse brushes. >Paper towels. >Newspaper to cover work surface.
