This course is built for high school students interested in learning Chinese and planning to take Chinese language and culture classes at college. No prior knowledge of Chinese is required. 

Integrated Chinese Level 1 Class is an elementary-level Chinese language course focusing on developing conversational skills by using fundamental grammatical patterns and vocabularies in daily contexts. It also integrates Chinese culture into language learning to enhance understanding of the cultural influence on the language. Upon successful completion of the course, students are expected to:
• Communicate in Chinese in real-life situations, such as exchanging greetings, describing family, arranging dates, asking about hobbies, and visiting friends.
• Understand and conduct basic daily conversations.
• Read and write Simplified Chinese characters taught in class, and comprehend readings related to the learned materials.
• Use Chinese at the sentence level.
• Demonstrate an understanding of perspectives of the Chinese language and culture.

In IC level 1 A, we will spend 24 classes to cover 5 lessons (chapters)+ Pinyin and Chinese character system. 2 classes per week. 12 weeks in total.  

Week 1:
Lesson 1: Introduction and Pinyin. 
Lesson 2: Pinyin and tones. 
Week 2:
Lesson 3: Pinyin and Chinese characters ( structures ).
Lesson 4: Chinese characters ( structures and radicals )  and numbers.

Week 3:
Lesson 5: Lesson 1 learn dialogue 1's characters.
Lesson 6: Lesson 1 learn dialogue 1 and grammar.
Week 4:
Lesson 7: Lesson 1 learn dialogue 2's Characters. 
Lesson 8: Lesson 1 learn dialogue 2 and grammar. 

Week 5:
Lesson 9: Lesson 2 learn dialogue 1's characters.
Lesson 10: Lesson 2 learn dialogue 1 and grammar.
Week 6:
Lesson 11: Lesson 2 learn dialogue 2's Characters. 
Lesson 12: Lesson 2 learn dialogue 2 and grammar. 

Week 7:
Lesson 13: Lesson 3 learn dialogue 1's characters.
Lesson 14: Lesson 3 learn dialogue 1 and grammar.
Week 8:
Lesson 15: Lesson 3 learn dialogue 2's Characters. 
Lesson 16: Lesson 3 learn dialogue 2 and grammar. 

Week 9:
Lesson 17: Lesson 4 learn dialogue 1's characters.
Lesson 18: Lesson 4 learn dialogue 1 and grammar.
Week 10:
Lesson 19: Lesson 4 learn dialogue 2's Characters. 
Lesson 20: Lesson 4 learn dialogue 2 and grammar. 

Week 11:
Lesson 21: Lesson 5 learn dialogue 1's characters.
Lesson 22: Lesson 5 learn dialogue 1 and grammar.
