This weekly drawing club is perfect for any learner who loves to draw cute things and loves animals! Each week we will draw a different animal in fun action poses, like running, jumping, climbing, playing and more! This class teaches basic drawing techniques but is mainly intended to be a fun and lighthearted class with opportunity to make friends and chat while working on our art. This class is a great companion to my Baby Animals Drawing Club, or as a stand-alone course! We will begin class with a few fun drawing warm-ups to get ourselves feeling ready to draw, and then we will learn to draw our animals. The themes for each week will be as follows: Week 1: Kittens in Action! Week 2: Pandas in Action! Week 3: Foxes in Action! Week 4: Puppies in Action! Week 5: Birds in Action! Week 6: Bunnies in Action! Week 7: Mice in Action! Week 8: Bears in Action! Week 9: Monkeys in Action! Week 10: Elephants in Action! This class is great for anyone of any artistic ability, so get your art supplies and let's get drawing! *If cost is prohibitive for you please feel free to reach out, as I believe all children should have access to quality arts education regardless of financial situation.*

Hello! My name is Mekayla Dionne. I am a Toronto, Canada based Artist and Art Teacher! I teach drawing and painting classes for children aged 5-16. I teach a variety of mediums such as acrylic, watercolour, tempera, graphite, and more! I love to help students build their confidence in their art as well as in themselves.
I went to OCAD University and received a BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts), majoring in Drawing & Painting. I now have my own professional art practice and I frequently show my paintings in galleries.
My artistic passion is in creating large scale abstract paintings using dozens of layers to achieve a highly tactile surface, as well as create optical illusions. However, my foundation is in realism drawing. I spent years building the skill of drawing things as realistically as possible, including drawing flowing hair, water, and rocks, using shading techniques.
When I teach, my primary goal is to make sure everyone is having fun. Art can be frustrating at times, and a lot of practice goes into learning just one skill. I know how important it is to make it a fun experience for children so that they don't feel discouraged. After all, the best thing you can do is practice, practice, practice!
When I am not teaching or creating my own art, I love to swim at the beach, go on bike rides, and tend to my plants. I am super friendly so don't be afraid to say "hi!", and I can't wait to meet all of you!レビュー
