Every generation is unique, but Generation Z (born between 1996 and 2015) is truly special! In this highly engaging, interactive course, students will first learn some super cool facts about their generation and what makes them so different from generations before them! Finally, we'll have a group discussion about ways this generation can approach these issues and events by being...
Students will gain a general understanding of the main economic and political issues and events that their generation will face as adults and voters, on a middle school appropriate level. For the last 5+ years, I have been coaching and teaching middle and high school students in the local homeschool community. Current events, including Covid19 and the wars in the Middle East, will be mentioned during the presentation. Students will not discuss the issues as a class and we will not go into depth. The events and issues will simply be presented with basic facts and as examples of current events and issues.
A theory by geopolitical analyst George Friedman, detailed in his book 'The Storm Before the Calm: America's Discord, The Coming Crisis of the 2020's, and the Triumph Beyond' will be briefly mentioned and simplified for the class. It will be presented as an economic 'theory'. Other sources include: pewresearch.org, McKinsey & Co., Kasasa, Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, and Forbes.
