In this class, students will make a tasty but simple soup from the ingredients they have available at home. They are encouraged to chat about their days and favorite topics while cooking, and come back every week with new ingredients! I have been cooking a variety of soups through the cold Canadian winters for many years, including while travelling for business and helping to cook for my company! Using leftovers has been one of my favorites, as each soup is different! I can't wait to share with your learners!
-Pot for soup -Something to stir the soup -Broth for soup (Canned broth, any kind, or meat bones or meat. Both meat and veggie soups are acceptable in class) -Ingredients for soup (Veggies, leftovers, pasta, etc. Whatever you have on hand). -Spices for soup (salt, pepper, sage, etc. Whatever you have on hand). -Bowl and spoon if students finish early -Serving spoon for soup -Cloth to clean up any spills -Knife (if needed) to cut up veggies.
Students should be supervised when cutting up food or working a hot stove. Injuries could occur during this time.
