This class can be started any day within the first week. Get the edge in college admissions. These little known "secrets" will get your application to the top of the pile. Make colleges want you by becoming an outstanding candidate. Participants will learn how to make themselves exceptional applicants in the college admission process. These ideas have worked with countless students who have gained entrance to some of the most exceptional specialty schools, competitive programs, honor colleges and exclusive schools, including ivy league universities. These ideas work, even if you are an average student. Students will learn how you can stand out from the crowd. Practical ways to get your college application to the top of the pile will be discussed. While no one, including this class, can guarantee you acceptance to the college of your choice, these tried and true ideas will help separate you from the proverbial pack, although admittedly these ways are by no means easy. They are, however, achievable for those students with the specific goal to get into the college of their choice. You will learn how to stand out in the following ways: (1) becoming a standout leader. (2) demonstrate your fiscal capabilities. (3) develop your writing skills. (4) make a difference that matters. Students should view this course while early in the college admission progress. Middle-school students would particularly benefit from the advice given. Get the competitive edge you need. Those with strong academic records and good grades will learn how to take your college application to the next level. Struggling students will learn how to overcome the weakness of their grades to make themselves strong college candidates. Middle-school and high school students should participate in this class, because the class will provide valuable time for them to make a plan for successful college admission. Utilizing these standout strategies (ideas) have enabled young people to get into some of the most competitive colleges using their home-school education to their advantage. While there is no guarantee a student will get into a particular college, these strategies ensure a student stands out as a stellar candidate for institution scholarships. Over the years, I have used these strategies with students to assist with college admission Students may email the instructor, a home-school college advisor, to ask questions or gain further advice after viewing the individual sessions. Students will learn how to: (1) Get their college application on top of the pile. (2) Stand out to colleges even if you are an average student. (3) Get an edge in college admissions. (4) Become the unique kind of individual that colleges are looking for. (5) Prepare early for college admissions. Four video sessions, followed by feedback from the instructor: Week 1- Part I- Make a Difference Week 2- Part II- Put it in Writing Week 3- Part III- Make Some Money Week 4--Part IV- Become an Extraordinary Leader After viewing each video session students may communicate with the instructor using the Outschool classroom. They will also be prompted to answer some questions to make sure they are engaging with the class content, how do they intent to stand out to colleges. Activities to supplement weekly class discussions: Week One Class discussion questions: What way can make a difference? Have you researched your topic of interest? Activity: Complete the sheet on ways to set up a nonprofit. Post in the classroom Week Two Class discussion: What cause do you wish others understood? What type of book do you think you could write write? Why? Activity: Complete the how to write a book worksheet, Post in the classroom. Week Three Class discussion: What are some practical ways to make money? What type of book do you think you could write write? Why? Activity: Complete the how to make money for teens worksheet, Post in the classroom. Week Four Class discussion: What are some practical ways you can stand out as a leader in your community? Activity: Complete the SMART goals sheet.
