週あたり 2-4 時間. Learners are responsible for attending the live lessons, watching the embedded videos in the Unit Review Slides, and completing the Knowledge Check included in each lesson. This amounts to roughly 1 - 1.5 hours of work for each lesson. It is highly recommended that learners complete the Knowledge Checks as they are assigned to avoid falling behind and becoming overwhelmed.文章の成績
GRADES: Learners receive private messages containing their final letter grades at the end of the 14th Week. Any feedback returned to each learner is via private message. To comply with the national grading standards, the following grading scale will be used: 100% - 90% A (5/5) 89% - 80% B (4/5) 79% - 70% C (3/5) 69% - 60% D (2/5) 59% - 20% F (1/5) GPA Weights A 4.00 B 3.00 C 2.00 D 1.00 F 0.00 As long as the learner participates and shows improvement, it is impossible to fail this class. If a grade is not required for your learner, please notify me ahead of time. Your learner will still receive feedback but a grade will not be sent to them. A grade will, however, be recorded in the event one is needed in the future. Learners who pass this class will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the 14th Week.進捗レポート
Learners will receive a progress report after every two weeks so their academic standing in my class is never a mystery. PARTICIPATION: Science is a group effort. Learners can earn participation points by responding verbally or using Zoom's Chat Feature during class while we work through examples together. Participation is 25% of the overall class grade. KNOWLEDGE CHECKS: Ideally, the Knowledge Checks are due 24 hours after they are assigned to avoid falling behind. Learners will complete these Knowledge Checks through Google Forms. These are graded based on completion and accuracy. Independent Practice will count as 75% of the overall grade.この文章は自動翻訳されています

SUMMARY: What is the college format? In college, each science class is one semester and split into two separate classes: lecture and lab. Each class is worth 3-4 semester hours. Almost every college degree requires at least one laboratory science course. What about this class? This class will cover a full year of high school Chemistry lectures in 14 weeks (one semester). Each week has a maximum of 4 lessons, with each lesson covering at most 4 topics. Lesson recordings be shared in the classroom so learners can refer to them after class. Sounds overwhelming? This class is the opposite of overwhelming. In addition to live lessons, I have curated a list of important vocabulary, recommended videos, and main ideas so learners have a clear understanding of what they should have in their notes. These will be posted in the classroom at the end of each unit via Google Slides as view only link so account information is not shared. Learners can use the slides as a resource to help them complete their notes. LEARNER EXPECTATIONS: Learners are responsible for attending the live lesson, reading the Unit Review slides, watching the videos that are embedded in the slides, and completing the Knowledge Checks that are included in each lesson. They can post questions in the classroom that can be answered by myself and the other learners in the classroom or ask them during class. Science is a collaborative subject. I do encourage learners to discuss topics and questions they may have. These interactions will be restricted to the classroom and any personal information shared will not be tolerated as it violates Outschool's Safety Policy. SCHEDULE: Each lesson is designed to cover 3 unit topics each and lesson recordings are scheduled to be posted in the classroom after each class Monday-Thursday for learners to access and reference. Knowledge Checks are due by 12:00 AM Central every Friday. A detailed schedule of the class is listed below in the syllabus. Week 1: Unit 1 - Matter and Change Week 2: Unit 2 - Measurements Week 3: Unit 3 - Atomic Structure Week 4: Unit 4 - Electrons in Atoms Week 5: Unit 5 - The Periodic Table Week 6: Unit 6 - Chemical Nomenclature Week 7: Unit 7 - Chemical Bonding Week 8: Unit 8 - The Mole Week 9: Unit 9 - Chemical Reactions Week 10: Unit 10 - Stoichiometry Week 11: Unit 11 - The Behavior of Gases Week 12: Unit 12 - Thermochemistry Week 13: Unit 13 - Solutions, Acids, and Bases Week 14: Unit 14 - Nuclear Chemistry

PERSONAL INFORMATION: The first question of every Knowledge Check asks learners to share their first names. This refers to the name listed in the class roster. Their names will be used to identify their work so that I can provide the best feedback to the correct learner and add their grades to the grade book. In compliance with Outschool's Safety Policy, the sharing of any personal information in the classroom is strictly prohibited.
GRADES: Learners' grades are recorded and shared only with the learner and guardians of that learner via private message.
THIRD-PARTY APPLICATIONS: This class uses CK-12 for its learning materials. Important information from these lessons will be shared at the end of the week in the form of a Google Slides link. The link is for View-Only to comply with Outschool's Safety Policy and does not require the learner's Google login information. Google Jamboard provides learners with a digital notebook for problems that may require work to be shown. It requires an account to use and can be shared by creating images of individual pages or by making a PDF file of the entire notebook. The use of this tool is suggested but entirely optional. Finally, Google Forms is used for the Knowledge Checks that coincide with each lesson. These do not collect learners' private information but do ask the learner for their first name for grading and feedback purposes.
EMERGENCIES: Despite our best efforts, emergencies do happen and can result in changes to the class schedule. I always plan to have my classes as they are scheduled. In the event that I have an emergency (loss of power/internet), I ask that learners log into the Zoom meeting and remain in the meeting for 10 minutes so that Outschool can mark their attendance. There is a one-week gap between my classes for the purpose of adding make-up sessions during the same time. In the event that your learner cannot attend a class, please reach out so I can adjust the assignments' due dates. Recordings of the meetings will be shared with the classroom. Learners are expected to watch the video lessons for the classes they miss and complete a different Knowledge Check for their participation points.
