In this 8-week Common Core math class for grades 6-8, students will master key math concepts, from ratios and fractions to algebraic equations and geometry. Each lesson is designed to build upon the previous, ensuring students grasp foundational math skills that prepare them for higher-level math. What will be taught? We will cover critical math topics including: Ratios, proportions, and percentages Expressions, equations, and functions Geometry basics, including area, volume, and angles Working with integers and the number system Data analysis and statistics How is the class structured? This class meets four times per week for 45-minute sessions, blending interactive lessons with collaborative practice. Each session will begin with a warm-up review, followed by a focused lesson, hands-on problem-solving, and optional homework to reinforce the concepts covered. How will you teach? I use a mix of teaching methods to engage students and accommodate different learning styles: Interactive slides and real-time problem-solving during live lessons Group practice where students can work through problems together Games and challenges to keep math fun and engaging Discussion and feedback to ensure students understand each topic What’s your teaching style? I focus on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment, making math relatable and easy to understand. I encourage participation, collaboration, and questioning to help students gain confidence in their math abilities. My goal is to help each student become comfortable with math while building the skills they need to succeed. How much will learners get to interact with you? Students will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions, engage in discussions, and receive personalized feedback. Interactive games, group problem-solving, and real-world math challenges will allow for maximum engagement.

Hello! I'm Math Teacher Celia, a dedicated middle school math teacher and the creator of the Logical L.E.A.P. Math Method. With over a decade of experience in the field of education, I reside in Hawaii and hold degrees from Illinois State University, Olivet Nazarene University, and Western Governors University. The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly disrupted educational norms, raising serious concerns among parents about their children’s academic progress. Recognizing the challenges posed by remote learning and the potential learning losses during this period, I have developed specialized online Common Core Math courses for middle schoolers. These courses are designed to ensure that your child not only catches up but excels in their math education.
