このクラスで学べること
In this one time course students will learn about times in history where works of art have been attacked. We'll go over and discuss theories of why someone may attack or damage art. From political demonstrations to times of insanity, some of these attacks are funny and others are much more frightening. We'll speculate if the attack of art can be justified. The Little Mermaid statue in Denmark has been decapitated at least three times. The Mona Lisa has had multiple attacks after her theft. Even times where artists attack their own masterpieces. In this class we look at the following works of art: Mona Lisa and The Virgin and Child with Saint Anne and Saint John the Baptist by da Vinci Rokeby Venus White Cross by Malevick The Fountain by Duchamp The Night Watch by Rembrandt Pieta by Michelangelo Guernica by Picasso The Little Mermaid by Edvard Eriksen Le Pont d'Argenteuil by Monet an untitled work by Cy Twombly Girl with Balloon/Love is in the Bin by Banksy
