ASL 1 - 初心者向けアメリカ手話クラス (7～11 歳)

Through this beginner ASL class, students will learn beginner ASL vocabulary and sentence structure. Students will gain knowledge of the deaf and hard of hearing world. Each week will have a topic and students will learn signs related to that topic.

Each lesson will have live class teaching with demonstration of all signs. In addition to the live lesson, handouts will be posted and shared with all students. The handouts are pictures of the signs that are taught in class. Students can utilize the handouts to help them practice. In each class, we will have fun brain break activities that teach signs.

Students will also be given the opportunity to complete extra signing activities throughout the week for feedback and extra practice. 

In this beginner ASL class, students will learn how to sign the ASL alphabet, numbers, how to introduce themselves, lots of common words and phrases, question words and sentences, family and people, food and dining signs, verbs, colors, question words, animals, calendar and time words, clothes, lots of adjectives and how to describe things and people and more! Week 1 - September 3-5  ASL alphabet, how to greet people and introduce ourselves

Week 2 - September 9-13 family and people signs, numbers 0-5 

Week 3: - September 16-20 common words and phrases part 1, number 0-10

Week 4 - September 23-27  common words and phrases part 2, numbers 0-15

Week 5 - September 30-October 5 food signs part 1, numbers 0-20

Week 6 - October 7-11 food signs part 2, numbers 0-25

Week 7 - October 14-18  calendar and time words, all numbers

Week 8 - October 21-25 colors, practice week

Week 9 - October 28-November 1 animals, pet show and tell

Week 10 - November 4-8 clothes and body, adjectives

Week 11 - November 11-15 adjectives

Week 12 - November 18-22 show and tell day

Week 13 - November 25-29 practice day (no classes on Thursday due to holiday)

Week 14 - December 2-6 question words

Week 15 - December 9-13 verbs

Week 16 - December 16-20 practice sentences, free signing
