Sources for content include picture book Henry's Freedom Box ( a Coretta Scott King award winner) by Ellen Levine. Also used is The Unboxing of Henry Brown by Jeffrey Ruggles. Mr. Ruggles works at the Virginia Historical Society and is a local historian (Henry Brown's story takes place in Richmond, Va- near the site of the current Virginia Historical Society Museum).
