Many African American Inventors are often overlooked in history. It is important to recognize the people who have made an everlasting impact in the world with their inventions. In this class, students will learn about some of the things we use in our daily lives that were created/improved by African Americans. Students will learn about Mary Van Brittan Brown, Sarah E. Goode, Frederick McKinley Jones, Madam CJ Walker, and Dr. Charles Drew. I will talk about the inventors life, their inventions and how they made life easier for people. Students will also learn how patent laws and discrimination excluded/overlooked black inventors. We will discuss why it is important to acknowledge the African American inventors who played a very important role in American history.

This class will be very informative and it also connects to my other African American classes. This lesson will be interactive, and each student will have an opportunity to share their thoughts and opinions. If you have any questions about the class or suggestions please send a message.
