In this 6 part course, we will focus on a variety of different acrylic painting techniques and paint 5 lovely paintings. (see attachment for photos) On top of acrylic painting techniques, learners will also learn about basic composition and lighting. Week 1: Painting exploration: We will try out a few different painting techniques and experiment with acrylic paints. This class will be all about getting comfortable with the medium and learning. Painting results will be mostly textural....
Acrylic painting techniques: Blending, dabbing, textural painting, scraping, directional brushstroke work, fine detail painting. On top of acrylic painting techniques, learners will also learn about basic composition and lighting. Patience and persistence: Art is a lot of fun, and part of that fun is a rollercoaster of successes and struggles. Students who complete a 6 part class will (hopefully) challenge themselves enough to make mistakes, learn from them, and grow as artists.

Each week I will expect students to practice with acrylic paint in their own time. This is not something that will be marked but it will help them on their painting journey. If a student does not finish a painting in class time I will expect them to finish it for homework. I will ask learners to complete an underpainting before every class. This underpainting should not take more than 10-15 minutes. In faster classes this will be done in class time.授業以外に週あたり 0 - 1 時間の学習が期待されます

Medium flat brush = 1/3 inch wide. Medium round, hard bristled brush. 2 Medium round, soft bristled brush. 1-2 Very small, thin rounded brush • 6 GOOD PAINT SURFACE: Hard canvases like a canvas board or wood boards are best. Smooth cardboard will also work. I like to paint on The back of cereal boxes Watercolour paper or canvas paper is optional as long as it’s taped down on all four sides to a hard surface before class starts. Please note: Regular Paper will not work. • 4 PRACTICE PAINT SURFACES: I use thin, smooth, sturdy cardboard from a cereal/cracker/cookie box or frozen food box. Size 8x10 is ideal. • PALATE: I use plastic lids from yoghurt or cottage cheese containers • OLD RAG/CLOTH • WATER CONTAINER • PAINTERS TAPE • OLD WALLET CARD (LIKE A GIFT CARD) OR LARGE FLAT PALATE KNIFE. • KITCHEN SPONGE • PENCIL AND ERASER • BLOW DRYER
Learners will likely need a blow dryer for the first 4 classes.
