With my four years of experience teaching elementary students with diverse needs, I’ve developed a strong ability to adapt my teaching to meet each student where they are. I’ve learned how to differentiate instruction, using a variety of methods—like visual, auditory, and hands-on activities—to ensure all students can engage with the material in a way that works best for them. This experience will be invaluable in this class, especially when working with struggling readers, as I can personalize lessons to help them build confidence and progress at their own pace.

I’ve also honed my skills in creating a positive and supportive classroom environment, where students feel safe to take risks and are encouraged to persevere, even when they struggle. My familiarity with different strategies, like scaffolding, using visual aids, and providing small-group support, allows me to meet the individual needs of each student. This flexibility ensures that every learner gets the guidance they need to become a stronger reader and build their skills with confidence.
