In this set of 15 1-on-1 private lessons, students will get personalized assistance with beginner to intermediate Japanese language skills. Students can range from no exposure to the language to having experience independently or through structured classes at school. Example topics may include: -learning Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji; recognition, stroke order when writing, pronunciation, etc. -learning to read and write in Japanese; full sentence comprehension, word order, conjugations,...
Students will learn beginner to intermediate Japanese reading, writing, speaking, and listening. This course would be appropriate as a first step towards the JLPT N5 assessment.

Homework will be assigned at the teacher's discretion for students who are not currently taking classes elsewhere. It will consist of multiple mini-activities structured around the learning goals of each particular class meeting, and should not take more than an hour to complete. Students will have assessments periodically to test comprehension and understanding if they are not taking classes elsewhere. Learners should have a pen or pencil and something to write on. A whiteboard would be sufficient for some activities, but for much of the taught material, learners will want to have a more permanent instance of it to refer back to.
