In this group, each week we will explore various techniques for using polymer clay by completing a challenge to create different types of miniature food charms! I will conduct the group by posting a weekly challenge based on learner interest. For example, we might explore color mixing by creating the right shade of pink for watermelon. We might explore texture by creating some kind of pastry charm. As the moderator, I will encourage learners to share their own ideas for the weekly...

- Learners will explore their understanding of polymer clay by learning and sharing new techniques and skills with each other.
I have been creating polymer clay jewelry and miniatures for over a decade. My approach is to show learners the basics and then let them add their own unique spin to it to create their own design. I find that students have great success through exploring the properties of a medium and then making creative choices in how to apply those properties artistically. I have taught art in a variety of settings to a wide range of ages for nearly 20 years with sculpture as a particular area of focus.
Learners will need to bake their finished charms according to package directions and they may need to use tools that can be sharp.
