Every week, your Learner will be introduced to the exciting science of astronomy in the form of news, event coverage, mini-lecture or concepts, all of which invite a growing interest and wonder about the universe we live in. At the beginning of each month and depending on observable astronomical events, we may start with a Sky News post so that kids will know what to look for in the sky. These will be combined with practical exercises, such as using http://www.globeatnight.org to learn about the featured constellation. For the rest of the month, we will be sharing important astronomical news and/or visit a topic of interest for a deeper understanding. For your learner to fully benefit from this class and my expertise, their interaction is encouraged, ideally at least 2 times a week; the more they group interacts, the more everyone learns. With each post, learners will have the opportunity to ask questions related to the topic discussed, in which scientific discussions are not only welcome, but encouraged. Students are also allowed to post their own news and ask about what they mean, which is a good exercise to develop a critical mind, and not blindly believing what is posted on the internet.
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will learn about recent astronomical events, discoveries or the state of the art of a certain topic of interest at the moment.
