NOTE: Students may use air dry clay if the prefer not to use polymer bake clay In this course, we will work together to learn the steps needed to create each portion of our clay creations. Different camera views will be used to show each step of the way. We will condition, cut, roll and form our pieces. Then we will assemble our body parts and get them prepared to be baked after class is over. The supplies are listed below and are necessary to complete the projects. I will go over how to lacquer the clay after baking if the students want a professional, glossy finished look. Students will personalize their creations to look however the wish after the basic structures are complete! Each week, we will sculpt one Cutie Style Animal, including: Snake Panda Zebra Tiger Lion Supplies Needed to complete the projects: Polymer Bake Clay or Other Modeling Compound (any brand you prefer, for reference I use Sculpey III) Basic Sculpting tools, toothpick or pointed tool, small rolling pin or paintbrush handle, dotting tool (for eye sockets) A Baking sheet covered with parchment or baking paper (don’t bake directly on it) A non stick surface to work on Variety of colors of clay (green, orange, yellow/tan, brown, white and black) A few wooden toothpicks cut in half (needed for structure) OPTIONAL: Clear Water-Based Gloss Polyurethane or Sculpey Gloss Glaze for after baking **Polymer clay requires baking according to the package direction. (Generally ~275 °F, depending on your brand of clay). You may do this after class. Parental help is necessary. If students miss a day, the recording will be available in the classroom for them to create on their own time.

*Lori King (Ms. Lori - She/Her) is a graduate of F.I.T in NYC. She worked in different areas of the design industry since 1991, from illustration, pattern making, garment construction to designing full story boards for buyers. She tutors Fashion Illustration to help other students complete their professional portfolios before their interviews. Lori is also a Polymer Clay artist, Graphic Designer and Illustrator.

*M Hopkins (Teacher M - They/Them) is a professional, published artist who creates comics and illustrations with a love for color theory.

*Appiffany Joiner-McNeil (Mrs. Appiffany or Mrs. AJ - She/Her) Graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biology, Cum Laude. She holds a Masters of Arts in Psychology and a Masters of Arts in Teaching.
She brings STEM and psychology to the platform, with science projects, labs, and experiments.
As a member of the Society for Science, she will further extend students' curiosity into the STEM field without the restrictions of specific curriculums.
