Experiencia de clase

Nivel de inglés: desconocido
This is a class for students who love pottery - making, looking at and collecting it. We'll explore the pottery of three ancient, very artistic cultures: Greece, Egypt and Japan. We'll cover the following in this 55-minute, fast-paced class:

• What's the difference between pottery and ceramics?
• Which culture showed a sense of humor in creating their pottery?
• What the pottery tells us about the ancient Greeks, including their food, their
    lives and their myths.
• Which culture NAMED their pottery?
• The process of handmade pottery, the early glazes and the first pottery wheels
and kilns in the ancient world.

I encourage students to bring their own pottery - authentic or modern - to show the class.

How I Teach:

- Only four students in class.
- Animated lecture and discussion.
- Lots of interaction.
- Images of pottery captured by the experts.
- A short, relaxing video on making pottery.
- Dramatic Keynote (PowerPoint) presentation
with illustrations and photos of original
   ancient pottery and artwork.
- The display of my own AUTHENTIC POTTERY
that people used in ancient Egypt.

I specialize in classes with no more than four students, encouraging students to share their opinions, ideas, mistakes and triumphs. I love it when kids laugh. If it works, as it often does in my small classes, we can all stay unmuted - unless there is background noise.

After the class, I message each student's parents/caretakers to tell them how their student did. And I give students extra material, encouraging them to continue studying ancient pottery on their own. I also send each student a PERSONALIZED CERTIFICATE.

CLASS PRICE includes (in addition to the scheduled class):

1. Welcome message to both the student and enroller.
2. Quiz (actually, a learning tool) as a pre-lesson activity.
3. AI generated summary for both entollers and learners.
4. Personalized post-class message to the student and enroller, detailing how the learner did in class and any recommendations.
5. Availability to answer a student's questions (by message) after class.
6. Personalized CERTIFICATE of class completion.

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
I hold a Certificate of Museum Studies from Harvard University and a Diploma in Egyptology from Oxford College in England. And I’ve been to Egypt three times on personalized, educational tours.

As a certified school substitute, I make the day more enjoyable - if it works out - by bringing an ancient Egyptian object into the classroom, whether I'm teaching language arts, social studies, science, consumer economics, art or even Native American studies.

I've been captivated by ancient Egypt since I was 10 years old. And I feel it's my destiny to share my enthusiasm for and expertise on this beautiful and brilliant 5000-year-old civilization with all of you. I hope to see you soon for a class. I think you'll agree that The Egyptian Room is an attractive, fun and inspiring place to learn.
