Hello!!!  In June, I completed thirty-four years of teaching, predominantly in public schools, but I am a big homeschool advocate having come from a large homeschool family.  I have a Master's Degree in Humanities from Penn State (thesis topic- Native American Literature).  In addition, two years ago, I completed a Master's of Education with a focus on Global Education/English as a Second Language from Drexel University. I have two active teaching certifications in Pennsylvania, a 9-12 Language Arts certification as well as a K-12 English as a Second Language certification. I have won a number of teaching awards including six National Endowment of Humanities Awards. 

Most of my career was spent as a High School Language Arts teacher.  The final third of my teaching career was spent as a K-12 English as a Second Language teacher, district Curriculum Coordinator, and Instructional Coach, teaching and coaching both in-person and virtually.  During this ten-year period, I co-taught a wide variety of subjects and grade levels.  This experience made me realize how much I love to teach the littles ones as well as the middle grades.  I have also taught internationally in Prague, India, and North Africa. 

Outside of the classroom, I have a deep love of dance, have studied and performed a wide variety of dance types, and serve on the board of a local dance company.  In addition to teaching language arts classes, dance classes for a variety of levels, I do storytime classes with my co-teacher, my black lab, Sophie.
