We will use healthy fruit and utensils found around the home to make delicious (healthy) popsicles. Together we will sing a song about fruits, discuss our favorite fruits (children love to hear what other children are eating), cook our popsicles, and finish with a lovely song about popsicles. This class is a great introduction for budding and first time chefs, those that enjoy snacking as a social activity, and children building fine motor skills. Children will interact with each other, as well as myself, throughout our class. There is no required knowledge for this class, but if this is the first cooking experience then we ask a parent to be nearby.
Metas de aprendizaje
The students will grow their independence and confidence in the kitchen. They will also help refine their fine motor skills and practice patience (as the popsicles freeze). Children will learn about the life cycle of plants, the process of making posicles, and practice counting throughout their experience.

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Hello! My pronouns are she/her. I am a Montessori teacher enjoying this adventure into the land of virtual classrooms.
I have ten years experience teaching in Montessori classrooms, including teaching 3-6 years, assisting in an elementary classroom, and co-teaching in bilingual immersion. Before that I worked at several children's museum and I am also, still, a professional seamstress. I have a Bachelors in Developmental Psychology as well as my AMI Primary Guide certification.
While I am not a teacher with specific training regarding differently abled and neurodiverse children, all of my classes are anti-biased, anti-racist, and inclusive. We welcome all children, and their families, into our community and encourage open and ongoing communication with parents regarding the needs of their children.
For me, the most important aspect of an education is a love of learning and critical thinking skills. Children have an innate ability to grow and learn and it is my life's work to give them the tools to learn and then get out of the way. If you take one of my classes you can expect that we will probably break out into song, at some point, and laugh a lot.
