- Students will learn writing strategies to help them get a piece of writing started and writing techniques to help them refine and shape their writing to express their thoughts and ideas. Additionally, students will learn how to give helpful feedback, and students will discuss their ideas about their topics and writing.
We will be using Nearpod for some mini-lessons that will make the course more interactive and fun for learning about parts of speech, mentor sentences, punctuation and other topics like that. Students do not need an account with Nearpod. They would use the code given during the live lesson in class by the teacher.

Access to Google docs or another online word processing app will allow students to write with more fluency and enjoyment. Parents would need to create a Google account for their child or allow them access to a Google account in order to use Google docs (or Office 365 Word). I will not have access to anything unless your student shares a file with me. Then, I can only view that file and make comments.
