¿Qué es ese pájaro? ¿Está realmente enojado?

Los estudiantes aprenderán a llevar un diario de la naturaleza mientras participan en estudios de campo de aves en sus propios patios y localidades.

Grado de EE. UU. 3 - 6
In this engaging biology studies class, learners will learn about bird watching for both enjoyment and for science. This class is perfect for those just getting started in biology or ecology and who want to know how their local birds fit into nature's scheme.
In Outschool classes, students get to join in from around the world. Not only will students learn about the biology and ecology of where they live but also from other students from around the world. Students will learn about the birds where they live, and how we can help them with the tools of science. We’ll use pictures and slides and demonstrate how to observe birds and how young people can contribute to their conservation.
My style of teaching is to encourage and reward student curiosity with a friendly, enthusiastic demeanor.
No prior experience with bird watching or nature studies is required.
For class, learners only need to bring their curiosity but they’re also encouraged to bring their notebook or journal to class with some colored pencils for sketches and note-taking. Some students may even want to follow up by making their own observations and taking field notes just like the professional and amateur naturalists do!
Metas de aprendizaje
I will cover the basics of bird identification and give an introduction to various ways of keeping a nature journal. I will also provide a list of resources students can use to make their observations count for science.
A typical class will proceed as follows:
5 minutes- Introductions & gathering materials
20 minutes- Explanation, demonstration, with student's questions encouraged and answered to the best of my ability.
5 minutes- I wrap it up with some review and encourage the students to go forth and learn from nature!

Orientación para padres
I advise students to obtain parental permission for doing anything to attract birds such as, putting out birdseed or putting up a bird or hummingbird feeder.
Lista de útiles escolares
Please bring a notebook with a pen or pencil to get the most out of this class. It will be jam-packed with information. Here is a fun introduction to the subject and it is purely optional but, I think you will enjoy it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzRkWvwqkNI&ab_channel=LearnBright
