En esta clase grupal de 7 semanas, cantaremos, rimaremos, jugaremos y colorearemos las palabras y frases que usarás cuando visites Alemania. Todos tienen la oportunidad de hablar y compartir. El profesor es mitad alemán, tiene una licenciatura en alemán y pasa mucho tiempo en el país.

Week 1Lesson 1SymbolsWe will learn some common symbols seen around Germany: the flag, the map, the Euro, and the WC.Week 2Lesson 2WeatherWe will learn some common types of weather experienced in Germany: sunny, rainy, cloudy, and snowy.Week 3Lesson 3Kid BeveragesWe will learn some yummy kid beverages to be enjoyed in Germany: orange juice, sparkling apple juice, hot chocolate, and peppermint tea.Week 4Lesson 4Fun FoodsWe will learn some yummy foods to be enjoyed in Germany: döner kebab, french fries, currywurst, and cucumber salad.Week 5Lesson 5BakeryWe will learn some delicious things to enjoy in a German bakery: freshly baked breads, pretzels, plum cake, sandwiches.Week 6Lesson 6Popular AttractionsWe will learn some of the popular attractions to visit in Germany: the Brandenburg Gate, the Black Forest, Neuschwanstein Castle, and the Zugspitze mountain peak.Week 7Lesson 7ReviewIn this lesson, we will play review games to reinforce everything we've learned!
- Students will learn the words and phrases they can look forward to encountering on a visit to Germany. This class sets a foundation and desire for future learning.
My native language is English—I learned German from my German mother and took German in school all the way through college, earning my B.A. in German. I even worked for a year as an intern in the German Bundestag, in an environment of total language immersion. I have a deep respect and appreciation for the German language, which I will pass on to your learner in my class! > GERMAN BUNDESTAG I served for one year as an intern in the German Bundestag. > ESL I taught English and German for one year in Taiwan. > EARLY LITERACY I worked for seven years in the children's department of a large public library with a focus on Early Literacy and multilingual programming. > EDUCATION I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in INTERNATIONAL POLITICS and GERMAN; and a Master of Arts degree in INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS with a language focus on MANDARIN CHINESE.
