Experiencia de clase

Join me on my Realm every week as we explore and fight our way through different maps and games in Minecraft Bedrock Edition. ***This class can be joined from Windows 10 (Bedrock not Java), iPad, iPhone, tablet, Android, Xbox One (With a Gold Account), PS4 (with a Plus Account), and Nintendo Switch (with a Nintendo Online account). Java for Windows and Mincraft for Mac are NOT compatible.***

Each week we will log onto my Realm and play a multiplayer game. Most of the games I choose are Co-Op but there are a few PVP games. The games are best for experienced players and can be tricky.

There are a few rules for my class:
1. Be Kind- both in Zoom and in Minecraft, do not do or say anything to someone that you wouldn't want them to do or say to you.
2. Share- loot, glory, and ideas are all things you can share. Remember that it is a game.
3. Every gender, race, color, creed, ability, is welcome to play. Neurodiversity is welcome.
4. Only join during your own class time. If you want to join during additional times you need to sign up.
5. If you are going to miss a class, let me know. That way I can adjust the numbers accordingly.
6. Be Kind- I know I said it already but it is really important in class and in life.

Here is the schedule:
Week of May 2nd- The Labyrinth- Solve a maze, defeat the minotaur, get treasure, get out
Week of May 9th- Lucky Block Dungeon- Work with your classmates to battle through 15 levels of a dungeon
Week of May 16th-Lucky Block Dungeon (week 2)- Work with your classmates to battle through 15 more levels of a dungeon
Week of May 23rd- Hide and Seek- It's hide and seek . . . on Minecraft
Week of May 30th- Raft Survival- You are stranded in the middle of the ocean. Work with your classmates to survive by fishing what you need from the sea.
Week of June 6th- NO CLASS
Week of June 13th- Raft Survival (week 2)- Expand your empireWeek of May 23rd- Bed Wars- Defend your bed. Crush your opponents.
Week of June 20th- Bed Wars (week 2)- Defend your title or seek revenge.
Week of June 27th- Escape the Gorge- Escape Room meets monster bash. Work together to survive and solve the puzzle.
Week of July 4th- NO CLASS
Week of July 11th- Sky Block Dungeons- It's SkyBlock and a dungeon crawl in one. Yay!
Week of July 18th-Sky Block Dungeons (week 2)- More exploration, more dungeons, more falling into the void
Week of July 25th- Hide and Seek- Is it your turn to seek?
Other Activities:
SkyBlock- Work with your classmates to build a life in the sky.

==Important notes about the schedule===
1. This schedule is subject to change based on class size, student preferences and play styles, availability of maps, and instructor preference.
2. This class is designed to be compatible with both regular attendees and drop-in students. Even though some maps will be played on more than one week, students do not have to attend both weeks. All activities are appropriate for students who prefer to drop-in for a single week.
3. All games will be played in the same Realm. Students only need to join the Realm one time and I will change the maps on the Realm. Once a student becomes a Realm member on their first week, they will not need to rejoin as long as they stay enrolled.

Students may drop-in or out of classes as it is convenient. However, if you are enrolled, you will be charged. If you are taking the class as a drop-in, you must unenroll before the following Sunday to avoid being charged. There are no refunds for failure to show.
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will explore Minecraft maps, work together, and practice winning and losing with grace.

Orientación para padres
1. This class includes battles both between monsters and between players. Minecraft violence throughout. 2. Students who do not follow the rules may be removed from class at my discretion. No refunds will be issued as a result of bad behavior. 3. If you are not sure if your student has the correct set-up to join the class, please contact me. I know it can be confusing. 4. During competitive games I will allow a bit of "trash talk". In other words, I will allow students to say things like "We are going to destroy you guys!" or "I'm gonna get you!". As long as the competition is good-natured ribbing, I will allow it. I will not allow personal insults, i.e. "You are such a loser," or "You lost because of Tom." That is mean and I won't allow it in my class. 5. Sometimes, when we play games, we lose. Make sure your student can handle defeat in a friendly game. If your child is sensitive to pressure, consider whether a non-competitive class may be a better fit. 6. Minecraft allows players to see each other's gamer tags and lets them contact each other outside of class.
Lista de útiles escolares
Your learner must have access to Minecraft Bedrock Edition. If you are unsure if your version is Bedrock, please contact me. Your student must have their permissions turned on and they must be able to play online multiplayer BEFORE the start of class. If you are unsure of what you need to have your learner ready or if they have never joined a Realm before, please contact me ASAP. If a student's account is not set up properly when class begins, they will be unable to participate in the class. I will offer them a transfer to a later class if available or credit for another class.

Hi! I'm Brenda and I'm a homeschool mom, an author, a swim instructor, and a really big nerd. I love stories. I like books, movies, and games. I love to learn about EVERYTHING! Some of my favorite things to learn about are math, dinosaurs, the Ancient Greeks, explosions, and world religions. I wish real life was a musical and I may spontaneously break into song.

My degree is in Theatre Arts with a minor in Psychology.

I believe everyone should be treated with kindness and respect. I also believe that we learn best when we are excited about what we are learning.

My favorite books are Harry Potter and Percy Jackson, my favorite movies are Independence Day and Fiddler on the Roof, and my favorite TV shows are MASH, Phineas and Ferb, and Firefly.
