Hemos comenzado...¡Nuestra diversión poética!

En esta clase, nos divertiremos aprendiendo tres tipos de poesía: un poema en verso, una cuarteta y un haiku. ¡Los niños aprenderán las diferencias y seguirán mis ejemplos para crear sus propios poemas!

Welcome to the world of creativity! Do your kids love poetry but not sure how to express their hidden talents and thoughts? In my class, students will use their imagination and learn how to write poems such as a couplet, quatrain, and a haiku. We will learn the differences of these 3 types of poems in relation to the number of lines used in each poem, and the number of syllables required in each line. They will learn that poems can be fun, humorous, or even serious. I will provide examples of poems written by my daughter. I will help the students use their creativity to develop their own rhyming poems about their interests. Get ready to laugh, and have fun while learning! The main idea of the class is to learn together and support each other while developing writing skills associated with our own thoughts and interests. They will learn to rhyme and improve their skills through imagination. I will try to help each child with their poems in the time allotted. If your child is 5yrs old, please sit with them off-screen so you can help them write poems with the patterns and descriptions provided in class. The younger kids also love the class, but tend to get distracted and start playing! Thanks so much! If you are interested, I also teach a separate 4-day poetry class called Exploring Poetry, in which the kids can focus on one type of poem each day. The first day we learn about couplets and acrostic poems, and then quatrains, haikus, and limericks respectively. Any level of writing ability is perfectly fine. No prior knowledge is required. So let's begin with a poetic spin! Hope to see your learner in class!

Hello Parents and Amazing Students,

My name is Mrs. Boradia and I'm super excited to teach your child! I'm focused on connecting with him or her fulfilling their individual needs. I have 2 children, ages 13 and 10. I have volunteered in their classrooms for 5 years. I have read children's storybooks to the class and helped the kids with arts and crafts and projects. I love it and I'm happiest with kids! I feel a sense of accomplishment when I see the light in their eyes and make them happy. I love to color, draw, read poetry, and even learn about the weather patterns! I would love to teach students these various topics, but best of all, I enjoy tutoring English. I love teaching elementary school topics and seeing children progress when they're very young. It provides a sense of accomplishment. As a child, I used to use my favorite reading books to trace their covers such as The Berenstain Bears. I started in elementary school as early as age 8, and still enjoy drawing very much. For the past year, I have been teaching Phonics and Grammar online and have tutored Language Arts, Reading Comprehension, Writing, Vocabulary, and Spelling. I would love to continue teaching it on Outschool. I am also a substitute teacher at elementary schools in my town. In middle school, I loved learning about America's states and capitals. At a young age, I also have written poetry just for fun. I would love to show children their hidden talents through writing and expressing their thoughts. Great teachers are patient, friendly, challenging, and make sure the kids are having fun! I love working with kids and watching them grow as students! As a parent, I strive to do what is best for my children. I hope to do the same for yours and look forward to working with you! Hope to see you in class soon!

EXPERIENCE
For 2 years, I have taught ESL online to children ages 3-12 on the VIPKid and QKids platforms. Those lessons included phonics, math, free talk, science, social studies, sight words, sentence patterns, and grammar. I am currently a substitute teacher at elementary schools in my town. I have the International Open Academy's 120 hour TESOL Certificate, as well as the 120 hour TEFL Fullcircle Certificate. I also have a Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Management and Education from Thomas Edison State College in New Jersey.
