**Previous class required** Before enrolling in this class, please make sure that your learner has taken my class "Warriors Book Club: Into the Wild." I will be checking enrollments to ensure all enrolled students have fulfilled this requirement. This class is the second in a series of six classes covering the first Warriors series and completing a creative writing project. Throughout the six classes, students will read the first six Warriors books, engage in discussion about the books with their peers, and learn creative writing through project assignments. If they take each class covering the Warriors books, students will come to the end of book six having planned, outlined, and written their own short book. In this way, all six classes together function as a literature and creative writing course. The adventure continues in Fire and Ice by Erin Hunter! Now that we have read book one of the Warriors series together, it's time to read book two. Each class session, we will discuss three chapters from the book "Fire and Ice" by Erin Hunter. As they read, students will also complete weekly creative writing assignments. In the previous class, learners created their own Warriors characters and worlds. In this class, learners will continue creating the framework in which their story will operate by choosing key characters, a central conflict, and so on. This project is a continuation of the projects they completed in the previous class. Each week's assignment will guide learners in creating the building blocks of a story. By the end of this class, students will have begun structuring their own adventure story based on the world they created during Warriors Book Club: Into the Wild. Session 1: discuss prologue-chapter 3 Session 2: discuss chapters 4-6; present first story building assignment Session 3: discuss chapters 7-9 Session 4: discuss chapters 10-12; present second story building assignment Session 5: discuss chapters 13-15 Session 6: discuss chapters 16-18; present third story building assignment Session 7: discuss chapters 19-21 Session 8: discuss chapters 22-24; present fourth story building assignment Session 9: discuss chapters 25-27 Session 10: discuss chapters 28-30; present final story building assignment
