Join us on a tour of a Virtual Rainforest in this one-time, 50 minute course! In this multimedia presentation, we'll explore: -What kind of weather and natural conditions can we expect from Tropical Rainforest, and what kind of clothes and equipment do we need to bring on our tour? -The 4 layers of the rainforest (emergent, canopy, understory, and forest floor) -The diverse animals (like sloths, jaguars, and sugar gliders) and plants (including the world's largest flower) that live there -Why are Rainforests so important (including serving as "Earth's lungs" and providing us with fruit and medicine) -Why are Rainforests in danger and what can we do to help with conservation? Students are encouraged to engage and ask questions, but are welcome to passively absorb if they prefer. Optional Homework: Write a ~1 paragraph reflection for knowledge retention. I also offer this class is part of a multi-week Virtual Natural History Museum course, if you prefer that method of instruction: https://outschool.com/classes/virtual-natural-history-museum-dinosaurs-the-ice-age-oceans-and-rainforests-UWh8H1Gu Finally, I recommend checking out my Teacher Profile, especially my Teaching Philosophy section, to make sure this is a fit for your student.
