This class will focus on the storytelling in video games. We will focus how storytelling in video games has evolved over the years, and discuss the difference between passive observation, and dualism. Where one involves simply observing such as in a movie or television show, compared to actually playing a role, and having some control in how the story unfolds. My class will have us look at some videos for comparison ( one game from the 80s, and how it changed in recent years ), and then...
- What I hope students will take away from my course, is that there is more to video games than just playing. The best games for me personally involve an underlying story, and I hope that the student will be able to see that, and appreciate as well.

Some games that may be discussed could be a little sophisticated for younger students. I will not focus on horror, but games such as Bioshock, Arkham Asylum, and Fallout may have material that might be a little difficult to comprehend. Please reach out to me for any questions that you may have.
