In this ongoing class, we will focus on editing videos with an iPad or iPhone. Throughout this course, learners will learn about different video editing techniques, features, and additional video editing tips & tricks. Learners will use their own videos for the class. They may also download stock footage from sites such as Pixabay or Pexels. Instructions will be provided before the first class begins. We will focus on iMovie and Keynote. The following is the class breakdown. Week of March 11-March 15: iMovie 101 - Learning the basic techniques such as trimming, splitting, speeding up video clips, etc.. Week of March 18-March 22: iMovie 101- Adding background music and sound effects to a project. Week of March 25-March 29: iMovie 101- How to use video overlays such as split screen, picture-in-picture, and cutaway. Week of April 1-April 5: NO CLASS Week of April 8-April 12: iMovie 101- How to use the greenscreen overlay. Week of April 15-April 19: iMovie 101- How to use magic movie and storyboard to create a movie. Week of April 22-April 26: iMovie 101- How to create a movie trailer. Week of April 29-May 3: Keynote - How to use Keynote to make your own green screen videos. Week of May 6-May 10: Keynote- How to use Keynote to make animation videos. Each week is different and the content does not build or depend on the previous week. Once I have gone through all the topics, the lesson will restart from the very beginning. My class is structured as a fun and creative environment and I want my students to be involved. When I'm editing a video during class, learners will also be editing a video at the exact same time. During the course, learners will be able to ask questions and interact with me. No prior editing experience is required. All learners are welcome!

The student will be using iMovie, Keynote, Pixabay, and Pexels on their iOS devices. They will need to download iMovie, Keynote, Pixabay, and Pexels from Apple's app store. An Apple ID account is required in order to download both application from Apple's app store. A Google account or Apple ID is required in order to login to the Pixabay app. During the class, I'll be screen sharing my iPad on Zoom. I'll be showcasing the editing techniques in iMovie, Keynote, Pixabay, and Pexels.

Welcome! My name is Simon Tse and I can't wait to have you in class. The classes that I will be teaching are focused on movie making and video editing. I have a bachelor’s degree from DeVry University. I majored in network and communications management. Before I became a teacher, I was working as a technology mentor to students at a Catholic school. I started teaching computer skills, video editing skills, and audio editing skills to many students. I believe that students will learn when they are challenged and having fun at the same time. I am very patient, and I will always help my students when they are having trouble during
the lessons.
In 2020, I started my own YouTube channel about technology and it has continued to grow with a strong community of viewers.
When I have spare time, I like to do many things. I like to watch movies, read comic books, take an archery class, and play basketball. I also love going to comic book conventions! I’m looking forward to meeting you.
