Hello families! I am so excited to explore elementary education topics with your student. I am from the Portland Oregon area, in the United States. In 2014 I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, and have had both Oregon and Arizona teaching licenses for grades K-8.
While I have worked in various part-time teaching positions the past decade, my biggest passion has been homeschooling my three daughters. My eldest is dyslexic, which has given me more understanding and confidence in teaching neurodivergent learners.
I love literature-based learning, and teaching through multi-disciplinary unit studies. In homeschooling, our interest-led learning will often incorporate a stack of books, engaging experiments, art, crafts, relevant videos and games or creative writing projects.
Through my various classes, you’ll find a variety of ways I engage learners, no matter the subject. I want every child to walk away feeling confident in the material, and eager to keep learning. I hope to see your child in my classroom soon!
