Experiencia de clase

Students will learn the importance of knowing their learning style. The acronym VARK stands for Visual, Aural, Read/write, and Kinesthetic. Students will be more successful in future classes if they can develop a range of learning strategies based on their preferences. The class will interact with the teacher and each other through learning activities. The class will be structured as fun engagement, which will keep the students active and thinking about their own learning style. Students will learn about tools and methods they can try in order to learn effectively in the a classroom setting.

DAY 1
Initial 8 minutes will be an introduction of the teacher and students as well as a fun icebreaker question. I will also explain the purpose of the VARK class:

--To consider the preferences of your peers
--To reflect on tools and strategies you can try in order to learn effectively

For the next 10 minutes, students will engage in a visual activity. Activity: Split up in pairs, receive a picture, and work together to describe the meaning of the picture. A couple of the students will share what their visual picture depicts.

My name is Aijalon McLittle. You can call me Mr. Mac for short. Most of you have heard the slogan “You’re in Good Hands with Allstate.” Well your children are in good hands with Mr. Mac. I teach Intro to Microsoft Office Fun, Basic Computers, Strategies for Class Success, College Prep: Strategies for College Success, and VARK Assessment: What’s your Learning Style. I'm currently in the doctor of education program at Oakland University.
My teaching philosophy is centered on my passion to enhance every student’s learning in my classes. Your children are human and sometimes struggle with challenges during their educational journey. My teaching, tutoring, and mentorship have converted them challenges into success. I ride my motorcycle to Belle Isle in the summer to enjoy the Detroit river. Yes, I wear a helmet. :) I look forward to meeting you in the future. Stay safe and healthy during these uncertain times.
