  • Students will learn and practice Spanish basics in the 4 modes of communication. They will learn to read, write, speak, and listen in Spanish. This is the second part of an introductory course and it will, hopefully, spark the interest of my learners to further their education in a second or third (maybe even fourth!) language. Let's encourage multilingualism! My learners will learn and practice various topics for beginner Spanish, including practice if the most useful verbs. Students will celebrate their learning by showing what they know how to do in Spanish through mini projects! Students will have the option of presenting to me or to their whole class.

Detalles: Sometimes students may need extra time outside of class to finish a mini-project. However, I will not assign homework outside of class during this camp course. It would be helpful for students to practice and review what they have learned even for 5-10 minutes daily.
Before taking this class, learners should complete the 6-week course: ¡Vamos a Aprender! Beginner Spanish Class Part 1 to be better equipped for this course since we will build on prior knowledge gained from Part 1.
A positive attitude and a growth mindset. A place for the learner to take notes would also be helpful!
We will be using external tools such as: Google Classroom, Canva, EdPuzzle, Gimkit, Kahoot, PearDeck, and I always encourage students to use the Duolingo app and website, but this will not be required for class.

For Gimkit:
Your student will be given a game code to join. And I will screen share for the game.

For Kahoot:
Your student will be given a game code to join. And I will screen share for the game.

For Canva:
Your student will need an email address (yours or their own) to access work and templates. It is preferable that the student has access to a GMAIL.com email as we will use Google classroom features.

For Google Docs, Jamboard and Slides:
The student will need a GMAIL.com email to access (yours or their own).

For NearPod:
The student will need an email account (yours or their own). I will screen share so students can follow along as well, in case there is ever a tech issue.

For PearDeck:
The student will need an email account (yours or their own). I will screen share so students can follow along as well, in case there is ever a tech issue.

For Edpuzzle:
The student will need an email account, preferably a GMAIL.com account (yours or their own).

For FlipGrid:
The student will need an email account (yours or their own).

For YouTube:
I will screen share any YouTube video resources that we use in class; therefore students will not need their own access to YouTube.
Students should have an email account they can easily use to help them access the materials and software we use sometimes (i.e. Canva, google slides).
